Punta Arenas is the capital city of Chile's southernmost region, Magallanes and Antartica Chilena. Ferdinand Magellan passed close to the present site of Punta Arenas in 1520. Nao Victoria Museum exhibits full-size replica of the Magellan's Nao Victoria - first ship ever to circumnavigate the world.
